Review: The Taxi Kitchen Restaurant is located on level 1, Transport Hotel, Federation Square, Melbourne. When entering the Restaurant you almost have a 360 degree view as it is encased in glass. The centrepiece of the restaurant is the open kitchen. You can see how your food is prepared! This kind of concept (complete open kitchen where customers can watch the chefs prepare their food) is gaining more popularity again. The Menu has an impressive choice and variety where you can chose from small, medium to larger portions – similar to Antipasti or / and Tapas style of size and presentation. The food style is a combination of Asian (Chinese) and Modern Australian incorporating the best local produce available. The food served was fresh, appetizing and very tasty. Dishes we tried included the “Cured Kingfish with pickled radish & shaved ginger” as an Appetize (S) followed by “Crispy soy quail with apple & lime dipping sauce” as an Entrée (M) and then with a “Stockyards Wagyu porterhouse with creamed potato & jus gras” as a Main (L).
A refreshing Restaurant within Melbourne’s Dining scene. Service was casual, friendly and efficient. Prices are a little bit on the upper side, but worthwhile. Overall a great place for Lunch!
Remarks / Special: PS: great place for a family / friend Luncheon – you will love the food and the view! Download my Review here as a PDF file
