SAFE TRANG by Felix Halter
Safe Trang is a Boomerang shaped Kitchen Safety Gadget made out of food grade silicone. A SWISS Concept, designed in Australia by my friend and Chef Felix Halter, Artwork by Tarrise King.
This is a “MUST HAVE” Gadget for every serious Foodie. In particular very handy at home in the Kitchen for blind or/and vision impaired Cooks – ensuring that the cutting board is secure and safe.
Safe Trang has many applications in the Kitchen. I want to discuss and elaborate on Safe Trang’s two main areas of application which are Kitchen Safety and Kitchen (Food) Hygiene.
SAFETY: Stabilizing the cutting board | No sliding of cutting board
1. Place / spread Safe Trang on Kitchen bench (surface) on each corner of the cutting board (size)Ensure that surface, Safe Trang and cutting board is clean and dry (wet and it will slide)
2. Place cutting board on top of the placed (arranged) Safe Trangs’
Now the cutting board is Safe to use. Sturdy, no sliding, no accidental cutting, no slipping, etc… You have full control of the cutting board when slicing, cutting or chopping in your Kitchen. It works on all surfaces (stainless steel, wood, plastic, ceramic, glass etc…) as long the bench is dry (not wet!) and clean.
HYGIENE: No need to stabilize your cutting board with a wet towel, wet disposable rag, wet paper towel, etc… which can compromise Kitchen and Food Hygiene by bacterial and cross contamination.
1. The cutting board does not touch the Kitchen bench (surface). No need for wet kitchen towel, etc… Safe Trang will avoid bacterial and cross contamination
Here are a few more very practical application:
a. Pot Under-liner
Serve your favourite “One Pot” dishes, Stews, Casseroles, etc… family style in the middle of your dinning table. No scratching, absorbing heat (no burning of your dinner table), stable, elegant and easy to use.
b. Storage and Transport
Perfect for storing / transporting your favourite Chinaware (absorbs movement, no contact – no cross-contamination). Can be used for other items to store / transport like pots, lids, trays etc…
c. Heat resistance / durability
Safe Trang is oven proof till up to 310 degrees Celsius. Perfect to stabilize your baking tray in the oven in order to poach (poaching in water bath) Crème Caramel, Crème Brulee, etc… or pre-prepare a Soufflé.
Easy to clean as Safe Trang is dishwasher proof. Ensure that the Safe Trang’s are dry (not wet) before using!
In particular Safe Trang works best when you have an induction stove. It will protect your induction stove top from scratches and at the same time transfers the heat to the pot. Watch Safe Trang Video HERE
