This is a tribute for my beloved Guide Dog (No 3474) Kaylah.
She first led her eyes on me in 2005, and since then we were always together. Kaylah worked as a Guide Dog for 12 years, officially retiring in October 2017, and was always happy and eager to bring me to places. This included the City2Surf walk, a train ride to Canberra, visiting Adelaide and Melbourne by airplane, going to the Snowy Mountains (Thredbo), numerous road trips and many more to name a few.
Moreover, Kaylah was keen to bring me wherever I needed to go. She was always by my side, going to TAFE and UTS to either teach or study. I believe she earned a few Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees on the way. Wherever we went, people could not stop looking at you because you are so beautiful.
Although we had to overcome a few obstacles, not just the physical ones, the majority of our outside world experiences and encounters were positive.
Most importantly, Kaylah was always there for my family and me bringing joy and happiness into our lives. Kaylah, you have been and are a big part of our lives and will be sadly missed.
It is with great sadness that we had to say our last farewells to Kayla on 17 AUG 2020. Β She was an amazing Guide Dog, soul mate & family member. We will always carry you in our hearts. Rest in Peace.
