A great day out for the whole family “Apple Picking” in Bilpin on the first day of Autumn (1. March 2015). It cannot get any fresher than this! You can pick the Apples directly from the trees! During our visit Red and Golden Delicious Apples were on offer. Entry to the farm is $2.50 per person (children under 5 years of age are free). PS: had no troubles / issues bringing my Guide Dog Kaylah along…Probably she ate more Apples than I was able to pick!
Tip: store your freshly picked Apples for 2-3 weeks at a cool and dry place in your cellar or basement before consumption (they need still to ripen up in order to develop their full flavour).
Bilpin Fruit Bowl is approximately 1 1/2 hour drive from the Sydney CBD. Worthwhile bringing the whole family as it is fun “picking” your own fruit and vegetables.
How to get to Bilpin Fruit Bowl:
2093 Bells Line Of Road, Bilpin NSW 2758 | T 02 4567 1152
On your way back don’t forget to stop at the Pie in the Sky Roadhouse for some delicious homemade “Apple Pie”.
Remember: an Apple a day keeps the Doctor away!
